Truth: Phase Me Out, 5 good reasons to listen in 2017

Entertainment 13 March, 2017

After several successive EPs, singer Vérité unveils “Phase Me Out”, the first single from an album that will turn everything upside down in 2017. Here are 5 good reasons to listen!
New week, new nugget! Like all Mondays, la rédac Musique by melty.fr will introduce you to an artist that will mark 2017. After Alma, The Pirouettes, Dua Lipa and Lord Esperanza (whose EP Black Flag is to listen to urgently) , Spotlight on Truth, indie pop artist with monstrously addictive texts! Originally from Brooklyn, Kelsey Byrne’s real name is talking about her today because of the release of her new single, “Phase Me Out” . Focusing on the difficulty of having good interactions with some people or the end of a romantic relationship (the interpretations are multiple), “Phase Me Out” should brighten your week. Here’s why ! 1) “Phase Me Out” is a tube in the making. From the first couplet, Truth sends heavy. “Say just what you mean / The love we do not believe in / The days we spend deflating” she sings with a bluffing assurance. And all this before even the famous bridge “Stand up straighter with my back against the wall / Keep me still and wondering just why we falter” which should delight your ears. Extremely well placed and well constructed, the refrain is a small wonder that quickly enters the head and stays there for a long time.
2) The clip of “Phase Me Out” is awesome . Preview in Imitation Game alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, the touch-all Charlie Manton signs here a unique work. Its framing choices are indisputable and the staging is worth more than the detour. In a dreary flat, Truth tries to make the man who lives with her react. Shattered TV, ripped pillows, broken plates, the “Phase Me Out” clip plays on the parallel editing and distortion of time. And while Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Tinashe support Nicki Minaj in his clash with Remy Ma , the clip of “Phase Me Out” is both confusing and intoxicating. 3) This is the first clip of Truth. Yes, despite three EPs released in 2014 ( Echo ), 2015 ( Sentiment ) and 2016 ( Living ), Truth had previously unveiled a video clip for his various singles. And when we see what “Phase Me Out” gives, a clip already seen more than 54,000 times as we write these lines, it goes without saying that the wait was worth it!
4) Truth is already an accomplished artist . Fabulous behind a piano, Truth was already part of a punk rock band when she was only in college and never stopped loving The Cranberries, Green Day or Nirvana. And as if that were not enough, it was self-produced up to that point. Already noticed by Noisey, Time Magazine , Complex and Paste Magazine , Truth is undoubtedly an artist that we will love listening to in the coming months. Last April, the magazine W affirmed that she had everything to become for the new Ellie Goulding, once associated with a great label. That being done, we do not see what could stop it! 5) His first studio album is released this year. Although no date has been announced – and while Eminem may unveil a new album in 2017 – Vérité continues to work on what is already one of the unavoidable projects of the coming weeks. In concert at the Maison Sage (Paris) on April 7, we can not advise you too much to take your seats! And you, what do you think of “Phase Me Out”?
