The anxiety around the tb is not settled in Vienna. The regional Agency of health (ARS) had served in the early summer that testing could resume in September, according to the results of the first two campaigns conducted in 7 schools in the region of Châtellerault in may and July last, attended by a teacher, patient zero of the infection.

The first screenings had been launched following the death of a 5 year old child, Tom, CHU of Poitiers, at the end of April. He had died of meningoencephalitis of tuberculous origin.

The ARS has confirmed Tuesday the extension of the surveillance. Trainees of the IUFM (1) that have come in contact with the teacher will be tested. These are now all the institutions in which it has exercised since September 2015, which will be included.

A second phase is organised in the school of Châtellerault (Herriot, Léo Lagrange, Matisse, Lakanal, Targé), of Leigné-les-Bois and Naintré. “Campaigns will also be deployed in 8 new schools and 11 new classes of the Châtelleraudais, in which the teacher, followed for a tb, has made replacements as of September 2016. “

The results of the first screening campaign have prompted the health agency to strengthen the device, in agreement with the ministry of Health. They revealed symptoms of tuberculosis in four children, and two cases of latent tb infection in a teacher in August, and in a child in early September. They are neither sick nor contagious, but may become so.
