A good part of the Quebec risk to know of the dangerous snow squalls Thursday afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued alerts and warnings in order to prevent the population of these weather conditions.

“The violent phenomenon occurs in front of cold fronts strong as the one that will go to Montreal this evening,” said meteorologist Gilles’brien.

Snow squalls accompanying the cold front will greatly reduce the visibility. Motorists should be very careful, keep their distance with the vehicles in front of them, and be wary of ice patches.

“After the passage of the front, temperatures will drop gradually, but dramatically. Visibility could be suddenly reduced to almost zero,” said Environment Canada by way of a press release.

The change of weather conditions is done in a brutal way.

Watch for snow squalls is issued when conditions are conducive to the formation of bands of snow that could produce an accumulation very abundant snow and zero visibility.
