    The prince Albert II of Monaco travelled to Rimouski on Sunday, in the framework of the Congress BioMarine 2017.

    Some 250 participants from 18 countries gathered in the city of the Bas-Saint-Laurent on the occasion of an international convention on the resources of the sea. The congress will continue until Tuesday.

    The prince Albert II of Monaco, who has several foundations related to the marine world, has met with the prime minister Philippe Couillard on Sunday morning.

    The seabed, still too unknown, will be at the heart of the discussions. In Quebec, 30 % of the residue of the fishery are recovered, compared to 85 % in Iceland.

    These residues are mainly used for cosmetics.

    “We have the will to go and seek out economically with all the benefits related to this blue gold. The research we do will lead many construction projects. It’s going to give birth to new businesses, creation of jobs,” said Jean D’amour, minister for maritime Affairs.
