An expedition that begins in St. John’s, the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador, in the month of June will provide the opportunity for the privileged few who will pay the sum of $ 130,000 to discover the wreck of the Titanic.

It is the company OceanGate, a u.s. private enterprise, which is at the origin of this expedition, the objective of which is to raise funds for research, exploration and evaluation of what remains of the famous ocean liner.

In 2018, six missions of the expedition, a week each, are planned. The first trip will take place from 27 June to 8 July.

Participants will spend a week aboard a research vessel of OceanGate, with the crew and many specialists.

To approach the wreck of the Titanic, at nearly 4000 meters of depth, they will take place aboard a small submarine that can accommodate five people at a time.

The nine participants selected for each mission should not only have the means to afford such an expedition, they must also be in excellent physical shape. The schedule of the first mission have been changed, a few places are still free!

Remember that the Titanic, which had the reputation to be unsinkable, had sunk after crashing into an iceberg on its maiden voyage, on the night of 14 to 15 April 1912. Almost 1500 people had lost their lives.
