No fewer than 30 presidents of riding associations of the Bloc québécois (BQ) have co-signed a letter in which they offer their support to the party leader, Martine Ouellet.

In the document sent to the national Office of the party, which has already given its support to Ms. Ouellet last Sunday, the presidents of the districts and regions are launching a “call to rally to our head, strong and generous, that embodies this country that we will create”

Last week, seven of the 10 members of the Bloc have left the party caucus, while inviting Martine Ouellet to resign. It has, however, resisted this call, choosing to remain on the job, while affirming that the door is open if members of the house who resigned want to re-enter the Block.

“Certainly, the events that we know occurred, because it also happens that the momentum tripped over. But we face always this promise that is the future. A future that will require the engagement of all the forces of our movement”, one can read in the letter that was sent to the media late evening on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, The “Duty” reported that the local associations of the Block appear divided, some supporting Ms. Ouellet, while others called for his resignation or a vote of confidence ahead of. Such a vote is not expected before may 2019.
