The holder of a winning ticket for the Lotto 6/49 $ 7 million, drawn on the day of Saint Valentine, is finally manifested itself and been able to walk away with his cheque on Friday.
And he can thank VAT New, which gave him the idea to check his ticket.
It is Jean Rouillard, a man from the eastern Townships, which thus becomes a multi-millionaire after having bought, the 14 last February, a lottery ticket in a convenience store in Magog.
The State-owned company had launched a public appeal Wednesday to find the lucky winner, and this, almost two weeks after the draw.
“This is by listening to the opinion of research at @tvanouvelles that the winner had the idea to check his tickets,” explained the spokesman of Loto-Québec, Patrice Lavoie, on his Twitter account.
But his wife did not believe it yet. It took that man rechecks his ticket on the web, that the two to have the heart net.
Mr. Rouillard has finally claimed Friday his prize, and he was able to resume Loto-Québec with a check in the amount of 7 039 885 $.
For the moment, John Rouillard has no specific project, but intends to “take the time to think about how it will take advantage of its gain,” we read also in the press release of the corporation.
