OTTAWA | thirty local organizations of the Bloc québécois are demanding a confidence vote quickly on the leadership of Martine Ouellet, who has just lost his chief of staff in Ottawa.

Representatives of district bloquistes have held a press conference Friday morning in Trois-Rivières, requiring that members be consulted about the political future of their leader, Martine Ouellet, by the end of the month of may.

In all, 28 districts make this request.

It comes as Martine Ouellet finds itself without a chief of staff. Mathias Boulianne has left office in the last days, because the “pressure of the crisis [in the Block] was too strong,” according to the press secretary of Martine Ouellet, Antoni Gilbert.

Mr. Boulianne was an employee of the mp Mario Beaulieu, “loaned” to Martine Ouellet since the departure of another chief of staff, Louis-Philippe Dubois, during a first crisis in June last year.

On Thursday, Mario Beaulieu, has refused to say whether he supports his leader, even if he was one of the last of his deputies still faithful.
