SAINT-SYLVESTRE | A major simulation of battle of the canadian Army was held Friday morning on the South Shore of Quebec city.
Nearly 400 soldiers of the 3rd Battalion of the Royal 22nd Regiment of Valcartier, took part in the exercise, which took place on the grounds of the Domain of the Radar St-Sylvestre, Lotbinière.
Everything has been designed to recreate as closely as possible a real situation of combat: rifles and sub-machine guns loaded with blank bullets, assault on a building, transport of casualties and captures of prisoners were a part of the simulation, which is a way of putting into practice some of the tactics of fighting.
After spending part of the week in this sector, after the exercise, the military took the path back to the Valcartier base.
