“This is the opportunity for the population to send a clear message of tolerance and openness. We are very worried about the increased presence of far-right groups in the streets of Quebec, so we are here to say no to fear, no to intolerance”, explained a spokesperson for the movement, Anne-Valérie Lemieux Breton.

The organizers are also said to be disappointed with the volte-face of the government Couillard, in the fall, on its consultation on systemic discrimination, transformed into a forum on the employment and integration. “This is very disappointing, for us it was a great opportunity to hear the experiences of people racialized, and their claims,” said Ms. Lemieux Breton.
