A new hybrid model arrives at Honda

The Insight is back for Honda. And this time, the japanese manufacturer intends to make of this hybrid model is a real threat to the Toyota Prius.

If the name Insight is familiar to you, it is normal. Its use is nothing new at Honda.

The first Insight was launched at the turn of the millennium, in 2000, to designate the first hybrid car of Honda. It has rolled out its kicker for a few years before taking its final bow in 2006.

Then, in 2010, Honda has come back with a second Insight. Not gaining the expected success, however, it was abandoned four years later, in 2014.

Unlike previous generations, this new version leaves out the configuration to tailgate and opts for a safe back more conventional.

Bigger than a Civic but smaller than an Accord, the Insight, 2019 not revolutionize anything in terms of design. Its facade resembles excessively the Agreement. We are in the know at Honda.

Under the hood, the Insight will be powered by a four-cylinder engine of 1.5 liter that is paired to an electric motor. Working jointly, these two engines offer a power output of 151 horsepower and a torque of 197 pounds-foot. Fuel consumption official has not yet been announced, but Honda promises a urban middle of about 5 L/100 km.

In addition to this mechanical fuel-efficient, the Honda Insight update on the technology to make its place. It was, therefore, entitled to a touch screen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as several devices using the pipe for greater security to the edge.

To its arrival on the market, the Insight will be offered in three distinct versions: LX, EX and Touring. No price has been unveiled for the time being.
