    More than 90 police officers have made a score of arrests and searches on Wednesday in the southern region of the Gaspé peninsula, in connection with a traffic of methamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis.

    According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), these arrests are the result of a survey initiated in 2015, called the Paddle, aimed at dismantling a criminal network that imported large quantities of narcotics, from Montreal to the Gaspé peninsula.

    The amounts of searches are not yet known, a balance should be established by the SQ.

    Several suspects arrested Wednesday have appeared on the same day at the courthouse Pierced. They are facing charges related to drug trafficking.

    The operation was conducted by the Services of investigations on the major crimes of the SQ, in collaboration with the Royal Canadian mounted police, the service de police de Laval, as well as the police officers of different positions MRC of eastern Quebec.
