BlackBerry Priv: The KEYONE has arrived, he makes his bow

This is the end for the BlackBerry Priv. The predecessor of KEYONE is being phased out of the sale. The end of an era for the Canadian brand.
The arrival in France today of the BlackBerry KEYONE signs the death of another smartphone. The Canadian manufacturer announced in early May that it would begin withdrawing the BlackBerry Priv from the sale. Presented in September 2015, and marketed for more than a year and a half in Europe, the phone is thus living its last days. It thus becomes more and more complicated to obtain it in France. On its website, the manufacturer lists 10 official resellers, such as Orange, Fnac or Rue du commerce. Six of them announced to stop the marketing of the phone. For example, LDLC shows that the BlackBerry Priv is no longer part of its catalog “permanently” .
The Priv was not a smartphone lambda for BlackBerry. The phone picked up everything that made the Canadian brand a success, and that makes KEYone today . There was indeed a physical keyboard, with a similar layout to the BlackBerry Torch 9800 . But what made the privacy of the Priv was its operating system. This is indeed the first smartphone sold with Android embedded, instead of BlackBerry OS10. A first that failed to ensure the commercial success of the mobile. Priv’s sales have remained fairly confidential. Since then, the brand has withdrawn from the smartphone market. Today, it produces phones thanks to its partnership with the Chinese manufacturer TCL.
