Volkswagen has just announced that it would cease the marketing of its Touareg in the United States.

We have just had confirmation that it will go on the hatch in Canada also.

This new comes just a few weeks after the Atlas arrived in the dealers.

It must be admitted that it is rare to see an SUV not to be renewed. Their popularity continues to grow.

In the case of the Touareg, it is important to clarify that it was aimed at the luxury SUV segment. Compete with the
Acura MDX,
BMW X5, Cadillac XT5,
Infiniti QX70 and
Mercedes-Benz GLE is not an easy task when one has the same logo in the front grille that a Jetta 16 500 $…

Atlas, Volkswagen tries a repositioning in the large segment that is the SUV. This time, we have to forget the luxury. With a difference of more than $ 16,000 between the starting price of the Touareg (51 960 $) and the Atlas (35 690 $), there is no doubt that the German manufacturer puts aside the prestige and prioritizes the volume of sales.
