Called the PriuSRT8, this Toyota hybrid is now powered by the engine of a
Hellcat.
An american company, customization of vehicles, American Racing Headers, has undertaken a project of great scale : to install the engine of a Hellcat in a Toyota Prius. A foot of nose to the environmentalists!
The 707-horsepower of the
Hellcat were not sufficient for this modifier. In effect, a turbine Whipple 4.5 L has been added to the large V8 6.2 L. The current power is estimated at 1000 horsepower.
Of course, this monstrous mechanical would have been cramped under the front hood of the Prius. The wall between the hood and the passenger compartment has been dropped to make him a little room.

The body is now supported by a tubular frame chassis in order to stiffen the vehicle so that it can withstand all that power.
The rear axle has also been modified so that the rear wheels are driving, rather than the front wheels as is the case for a
Toyota Prius conventional.
Externally, it is virtually unchanged. With the exception of the huge rear tires, nothing could suggest, at first glance, it is a beast of performance.
We are already looking forward to see it out on the ¼ mile.
