On the eve of the tenth anniversary of the disappearance of Cédrika Provencher, his father and his sister continue to learn to live with their grief and the hope that the murderer is ever caught.

Asked about his desire to see the police finally put the hand on the neck of the murderer of the girl, Martin Provencher has ensured, in an interview with TVA News, that he “does not maintain this revenge.”

“We learned to manage it. What we all want, is that the criminal be punished eventually, that it takes a year, two years, three years,” he said.

The father tearfully took the opportunity to speak to Jonathan Bettez, who was arrested for possession of child pornography in 2016 and that has already been considered as the main suspect in the disappearance of Cédrika. “It must collaborate. If he proclaimed his innocence, that he is working with the police”, has dropped Mr. Provencher.

Remember that the suspect has never agreed to undergo the polygraph test.

The sister of Cédrika, Melissa, abounded in the same sense that his father in commending the police for their work. “They are going to do everything for there to be an arrest,” says the one who prefers that the police take their time to properly mount their folder.

“The folder is not completed. The information that is missing… the police are always alert. They are still waiting for details,” added his father, calling on the public to help police if they have information.

    A birthday emotional

Without surprise, the date marking the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of little Cédrika, July 31, 2007, is a landmark for his family. “It takes us back to the nightmare. When we were in the unknown, these dates-there seemed to be the worst. […] But the life continues,” said Mr. Provencher.

“It is sure that it dates back emotions, but you get used to it. I try to stay strong and not show that I am sad. It is sure that you remember the event at the same time”, for its part, has recognized Melissa.

The remains of the small Cédrika were found on December 11, 2015, nearly 8 and a half years after his abduction.
