The Montreal Impact would be on the point of concluding an agreement to obtain the midfield quebec Samuel Piette.

“I can say that it is near, said assistant coach Jason Di Tullio, Wednesday. According to what I know, I’m sure that it will be done soon. “

22-year-old native of Repentigny, Piette has recently shone with the canadian team to the Gold Cup, which is not spent under the radar of the montreal supporters and the direction of Impact. He helped Canada reach the quarter-finals, before losing 2-1 to Jamaica.

Piette would return home after a long exodus in Europe with FC Metz (2010-2012), Fortuna Düsseldorf (2012-2014), Deportivo (2014-2016), Racing Ferrol (2015-2016), and, last season, with the CD Izarra, in the third division of spain.

With the canadian team, Piette participated in 35 games, including 21 as a starter. He collected two helpers in the uniform of the maple leaf flag.

On June 13, Piette had celebrated his first game in Quebec with the national team by purchasing 391 tickets for his family and friends for the friendly duel played at Saputo Stadium between Canada and Curacao. He has collected an assist in the 2-1 victory for Canada.

The period of transfer to the MLS will end on 9 August.
