An overdose of fentanyl that could be the cause of the death of two men whose bodies were found Friday in a car in Montreal.
“Of accessories related to the consumption of drugs, as well as of the residues were recovered in the vehicle, and we prefer the hypothesis of overdose “, indicated Friday Raphael Bergeron, a spokesman for the Montreal police.
The bodies of two men were discovered inside a car late Friday afternoon in downtown Montreal.

Drivers
These are drivers that have noticed the presence of the two men still in their vehicle since already a good moment, in the parking lot of the Petro Canada at the corner Of de Maisonneuve boulevard and De Lorimier avenue.
They have knocked at a window to ensure that they were well, but have quickly understood that the two men were dead.
They have alerted the authorities shortly after 11 a.m.
The victims are in their fifties and their bodies bore no marks of violence were apparent.

Powder
A source present on the scene told the Newspaper that the drugs found were in the form of several packets of powder without being able to say what substance it was. The Montreal police, however, has not confirmed this information.
Regardless of the substance entry, the hypothesis of the fentanyl remain valid, since the opioid is used by traffickers to cut all kinds of drugs.
An autopsy should be performed on the remains in the next few days and will know more about the conditions of their death.
These two deaths occur a week after a wave of overdoses on fentanyl has affected a dozen people without cause of death in the district of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
This opioid, approximately 40 times more potent than heroin, has already made two more victims this summer in Montreal and led, for several years, a wave of fatal overdoses in Western canada.

Signal
If it is confirmed that the two men found on Friday were victims of fentanyl, this would be a signal a very alarming according to Alexandre Paradis, the president of the organization SOS Roaming.
“What strikes me is that these two men do not have the profile of homeless drug addicts that I usually take care of and that they have not been found in a corner known to be a spot of consumption, ahead of-t-he. This would tend to prove that the fentanyl hits everywhere, in all types of neighbourhoods and social classes. “
