SAINTE-CHRISTINE | A motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a car at Sainte-Christine, in Montérégie, Sunday afternoon.
The tragedy occurred a little before 14 h on the corner of route 222 and on the way from Bethel.
A sport-utility vehicle began turning left on route 222 to go to the east, but it seems that he had not seen two bikes westward on this road.
A motorcycle then collided with the SUV, while the other bike was off the road for the dodge.
“The motorcycle of the man remained trapped under the SUV. He died of his injuries. The motorcyclist swerved to avoid the vehicle. She was injured and transported to hospital, but his life is not in danger,” said Claude Denis, a spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec.
The driver of the SUV, who was alone on board, was also transferred to the hospital to treat a nervous shock.
Route 222 was closed to traffic so that the investigators can shed light on this collision.
