In the world of autonomous cars, we are currently seeing a race against the clock and it plays the elbow between the actors.

While Elon Musk says the autonomous control can be fully secured by cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors, Scott Miller, head of the autonomous car in General Motors, doesn’t believe that for one moment. In an interview granted to a media australian, he has even gone so far as to say that Elon Musk was “full of shit” (literal translation of “full of crap”).

    Recall that the CEO of
Tesla has said that all brand cars built after October 2016 would be equipped with the necessary technology to be fully self-sustaining and meet the criteria of the fifth level (out of five) on the scale of the Society of Automotive Engineers. This level states that the car must be autonomous and that it must execute the normal duties of a car without human intervention, and without regard to the condition of the roadway or environmental conditions.

For Scott Miller, a vehicle can be completely autonomous without the use of a lidar. This last one allows you to measure a distance from a light beam. That
Elon Musk advance is physically impossible, according to him.
