Spain is going to hold early elections in Catalonia

The Spanish authorities took the decision to hold early elections in Catalonia in January next year.

 

Carmen Calvo, the representative of the socialist party of Spain has informed that the authorities together with the opposition socialist party agreed to hold early elections in Catalonia. This measure will be taken in connection with article 155 of the Spanish Constitution, which goes on restricting the authorities of the Autonomous Okrug.

Yesterday, October 19th, come to the end of the period for which the leader of Catalonia Carles Pujdeme had to report to the Prime Minister of Spain on the decision about the Declaration of independence County. Pujdeme added that the decision on the freedom of Catalonia suspended and remains in force. The head of Catalonia said that the County Parliament will hold a vote if the Spanish authorities will continue to refuse the engagement, and will continue to put pressure on regional authorities.

We will remind that tomorrow, October 21, scheduled an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers of Spain. The authorities are going to decide on the start of the procedure for 155 article about the limitation of the self-government of Catalonia.
