The Japanese government has denied the timing of the abdication of Emperor Akihito

20 October, media reported that Akihito, the reigning Japanese Emperor, decided to resign in 2019 at the end of March. The government of Japan immediately responded, denying the information.

 

The situation was clarified Suga Yoshihide, who is the chief Secretary of the Japanese government. He explained that on this question nothing is known because nothing is decided yet. Even the Commission concerning the Affairs concerning the family of the Emperor, not elected and not known the timing of its official convocation. He said that the government of Japan intends to apply all efforts for prosperous transmission of the throne in due time, when any appear. Several media outlets claimed that the previously announced date of transition is the place to be in the beginning of the new fiscal year, which starts on the first of April.

Recall that in the late summer of 2016, the Emperor announced his intention to leave the throne, guided by his age.
