Two men in a vehicle were smashed in the front door of the IGA Extra Saint-Sauveur backward in the supermarket hoping to steal an atm, but their attempt did not materialize.
It was around 2 p.m. that the burglars broke into the food market, triggering an alarm that alerted police officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Upon their arrival on scene, officers have been able to notice the damage, but the thieves had taken the powder cleared off with their vehicle, reported Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, a spokesperson for the SQ.
A security perimeter was erected history to reconstruct the scene.
The two criminals could face charges of breaking and entering and attempt of vol.
