    Look at this article

Like every year, we are replongés in the wonderful Holiday season. “Wonderful”, it seems, but not for everyone. Far from it.

There is first of all to all those who, poor or not, and often because of bad childhood memories, depress during this period where one dictates to us almost in a whirlwind in the joy!

There are also all those which, under the effect of the order ambient buy gifts, simply do not have the financial means. And then, there are those who, under pressure, go into debt up to his neck to do so.

In fact, in the West, we live in a funny system where we are told to consume at fixed dates, and we do. I argue, moreover, guilty as millions of others. Less than before, however. Perhaps it is the experience that comes with age…

Each year is punctuated with the same “appointment” of high -, small-or medium-consumption at a fixed date.

The important thing, we are told, is to buy and buy. Either to exist, or to feel part of the society, or to hide an inner emptiness, or all of these possibilities at once.

From the end of November, this is the great departure to the big expenses. Like zombies, we we invade shopping malls or buy online.

The hunting of televisions biggest, most “smart” /sic/, and above all, the most expensive possible, is also part of this “ritual” for a few years. A trend which, I confess, completely escapes me.

So, yes, it does not stop. Monthly payment card credit monthly payment… The Saint Valentine’s day, Easter, mothers day, fathers day, Halloween, Friday, crazy, mad Monday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and I could go on and I forget.

It is as if we had lost our own individual free will to DECIDE when we eat to “offer” gifts to the people you love.

Of the time I tell myself that in the crazy world that is ours, the most beautiful gift to give to the people you love would be the time. This commodity, so valuable, because more rare.

Give quality time. Give a day of respite to a caregiver.

To give time for security to a mother and/or father out of breath.

Give time in visiting a CHSLD.

    Give time to his parents.

Give time to his friends, regardless of the form. Etc…

And you, it makes you crazy or not, these dictates of consumption obliged to fixed dates?

If yes, have you found “tricks” to escape it, if only just a little bit?
