The educators of the early childhood Centres (CPE), affiliated with the FTQ entered into a memorandum of understanding with the government of Quebec, Monday.

“We had good gains for the workers and the workers of the CPE,” said Jennifer Genest, union advisor for the fonds de solidarité FTQ in the folder.

“They will see their working conditions improved with this arrangement”, she added, by issuing a press release.

The agreement will be presented to some 800 unionized at the general meetings that will be held during the month of January. The members will then be invited to comment on the details of the agreement.

For his part, the minister of the Family, Luc Fortin, said he is “happy” with the conclusion of this agreement.

“This is excellent news for all parties, including the workers, but also for all Quebec families who benefit from the services of the CPE concerned”, he responded, by issuing a press release.

The employees of the CPE of the FTQ are without a work contract since 2015.

The Federation of workers of Quebec (FTQ) is the third in the union in importance in the network of the CPE, after the CSN and the CSQ. Tentative agreements have also been concluded with the unions in recent weeks.
