A woman was killed and her 5 year old son was seriously injured on Sunday after being caught up in the parking lot of a shopping center in the borough of Saint-Laurent, in Montreal.
According to police, the accident occurred around 11: 30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Village center of Montpellier, at the intersection of boulevard de la Côte-Vertu and Montpelier.
According to witnesses who contacted the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), the car would have struck the two victims who were walking in front.
The two pedestrians, a woman in her forties and a child of about 5 years, have been transported to the hospital, where the doctors still feared for the life of the child. The woman’s death was confirmed in the late afternoon.
The driver, a man of 90 years old, was not injured.
Investigators from the SPVM have been on the spot in an attempt to understand the causes and circumstances surrounding this accident.
