MONTREAL – The minister of Health has inaugurated Monday in Montreal two supercliniques, the 24th and 25th to open their doors in Quebec.
In the morning, Gaétan Barrette has proceeded to the official opening of the superclinique Polyclinique Cœur-de-l’île, in Villeray. In the afternoon, he went to the superclinique Angus in Rosemont-La Petite Patrie.
Open from 8 h to 20 h the week and the end of the week, the two supercliniques will offer several services including the service of levies and medical imaging. The minister described this as a mini-emergency.
“For minor problems – it is in the period of flu – it is here that one should come first, if it has no place with his family doctor. Because the superclinique wants to be an intermediary between the office of a doctor, if it is not a GMF or GMF, and the emergency. Because we are offering the services of this level”, he explained.
The supercliniques have to add some 20 000 consultations each for patients who do not have an appointment and that they are able to see a doctor and receive care on the same day or the next day by calling three hours before closing.
