The Stratos, one of the cars representing the History of the Italian automobile, will ultimately be resurrected 40 years after the end of its production.
Except that this time, this is not a Lancia that sold it. Italian brand still alive and part of the family of the FCA, Lancia is (oddly) not the manufacturer behind the renewal of this legend that is the Stratos.
No, it is rather Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) who will build this Stratos 2.0, which will not be made with 25 small copies.
MATT Stratos
MATT had already presented this “New Stratos” there are already eight years old, in 2010. It took time, but everything suggests that this is a model almost identical to this concept which will be unveiled on the Show floor of Geneva, at the beginning of the month of march.
Maintaining a design and the wheelbase is pretty faithful to the Stratos original, this new car promises to deliver a higher power to 550 horses.

It is however just about all that has to be put in the tooth for the time being. For the technical details, both on the chassis than on the mechanics, it will have to obviously wait for the official unveiling.
A legend of the race
Manufactured by Lancia during the decade of the 70’s, the Stratos has first and foremost been designed to win in motor racing. And she did it. Often. In 1974, 1975 and 1976, the pretty Italian car has been crowned the champion of the World Rally Championship.
And then, through it all, the Lancia also built a version of production between 1973 and 1978. Made of only 492 copies, the Stratos HF (for High Fidelity) was powered by a V6 engine, the Ferrari 2.4-litre, 190 hp.
