    A Canadian is detained in the State of Illinois in connection with a sexual assault he allegedly perpetrated on a child last April.

    Robert J. Gould, age 51, of Nova Scotia, has been charged in relation to alleged acts committed in the areas of Island Lake and Woodstock, Illinois.

    Gould is facing twenty counts, including several sexual assault. A deposit of US $ 500,000 has been set to allow him to recover his freedom.

    The investigation that led to the arrest of Gould began after canadian authorities had reported to their american counterparts of possible criminal acts. The sheriff of the county of McHenry has made contact with the accused when he visited the region of Wheeling, in the same State, in August last.

    What are the canadian authorities, who ultimately arrested Gould on September 1, has reported to the police. He was extradited to the United States and is scheduled to appear this Monday.
