A celebration turns to tragedy in the suburbs of Toronto

    TORONTO | barbecue has turned into a drama in the night from Saturday to Sunday, when at least one person opened fire, killing three of the victims during a festive gathering in the area of Scarborough, Toronto.

    According to the Toronto police, the event occurred following an altercation at around 1 a.m. in the morning, in a residential area located a few meters from the Toronto zoo.

    The death of Rinaldo Cole and Dwayne Campbell, two men aged 33 and 30, have been recorded on site.

    The third victim, a woman who was celebrating his birthday in the company of about 200 guests, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Feared however more to his life in the morning, on Sunday, said police during a press conference.

    Several suspects reportedly fled the scene after the shooting, but the Toronto police was not able to indicate, on Sunday morning, how many people have taken part in the shooting.

    “Although there were several people at the party, I can tell you that we get very little cooperation,” said detective Rob North, while calling on witnesses to contact the police.

    “It is upsetting. It is a very quiet and peaceful. These are not people disturbing. They would just a feast,” said a neighbor, Dow Shew, the network CP24.

    In addition, another firefight broke out shortly after, taking five serious injuries in the restaurant McGradie’s Tap & Grill, still in Scarborough.
