LAVAL | firefighters Laval fought also on Friday afternoon a fire in a commercial building, more than 8 h after its induction.

Authorities received a call shortly after 6: 20 a.m. reporting a fire in the space recycling to the company RCI, is located on the boulevard Saint-Elzear Ouest.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the presence of a lot of smoke and fire spread. “We quickly went on the defensive,” said chief operations Michel St-Jean, pointing out that they were in “the fourth alarm since the beginning of the intervention”.

The fire was still not under control at about 13 h, he said.

Fifty firefighters are still struggling against the blaze, and this, in extreme cold, which complicated the procedure.

The authorities concerned, however, not injured.

The police of Laval has been called in assistance, in particular because of the thick smoke which interfered with the circulation of the industrial sector. Evacuations have also taken place in the vicinity as a precautionary measure.
