A couple of Lanaudière has had quite a scare Wednesday night when their vehicle was the target of fire shot from another vehicle.

Laura Beaudoin, who has contacted TVA News via his page Facebook, was riding on highway 25 south at the time of the incident.

“We were three vehicles on the left lane. The first vehicle in front of us slowed down, and then the second. When we moved to the side of the first car, a young man pulled out a peashooter and fired on us”, she told.

The mother of the family, still shaken, said she thought the driver wanted to talk to him.

“When he lowered his window, I thought he wanted to tell us something was wrong on our vehicle. Then he bent down to take something. I told myself that he was going to throw me a subject, and then he took out his rifle.”

The lead has finished its run in the window of the rear door, just to the side of the bench of the son of the couple.

“It could be very dangerous since we were on our way to go pick up my son. And then I had my window open. I would have been able to receive the lead-in the eye,” said Ms. Beaudoin.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) confirms to have made an arrest in this folder, which is treated as a case of road rage.

“We have arrested a young man of 21 years of Mascouche for assault with a weapon and carrying weapons for a purpose dangerous,” said the spokesperson for the SQ, Ingrid Asselin.

According to the SQ, several air guns have been seized in the vehicle of the suspect and his home. “He was released on a promise to appear and should meet several conditions by then,” added Ms. Asselin.
