MONTREAL – A father Christmas gave the children was dismissed by the Fairview shopping centre in Pointe-Claire after having received several complaints from parents.
The mother of a family has assigned to the Global News, his disappointment when she brought her four year old daughter at the mall: “We saw father Christmas on the 2nd floor, we didn’t know if it was a break or not. My daughter came up to give him a cuddle. He put his hand on his forehead and was pushed out. He continued to walk without saying a word and without a smile,” said Melanie Cyr.
“I had to reassure my daughter, who was disappointed in him saying that this was not the real santa because the real was too busy at the North pole. There are two things to do in this job: to love the children and spread the joy of the holiday season. This is basic stuff.”
It is telling about his bad experience on Facebook that she realized that she was not the only one.
“I’ve heard that father Christmas had treated a child of little boy in him, telling him to make an appointment, he refused to smile on the photos, and he did cry for a child with autism because he touched his beard.”
The complaints, filed in late November, have resulted since the Fairview shopping centre has confirmed to Global News that father Christmas grumpy was laid off a few days after, stating that it “has not met the expectations of our clients and our team.”
