GATINEAU | A fire caused heavy damage and 38 people in an apartment building in the rue de Lausanne, Gatineau, Saturday evening.

The fire is said to 19 h, and destroyed one of the 18 housing units of three-storey building, reported the Ottawa Citizen. Another apartment has also been heavily affected.

The damage is estimated at about $ 300,000. The 38 residents of the building have been evacuated and taken care of by the Red Cross.
