It is a neighbor and friend of the victim who had made the grisly discovery, in the early morning.

“Given the totality of the circumstances, the case is being treated as a suspicious death,” said lieutenant Jean-François Vézina of the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ).

Investigators of serious crimes as well as technicians in the forensic identification of the SPVQ went on-site to learn more about the circumstances surrounding this death. No track is excluded.

    Drunken night out

The nephew of the victim, for his part, has a hard time to believe that criminal elements may have caused the death of his uncle. According to him, the man had been involved earlier in a drunken night out, and he would have decided to have a rest in the hut of his host, where he would have suffered a malaise.

“It is a friend with its second neighbour, and yesterday evening (Saturday), it seems that it would have been to make the feast. They are made a party, I don’t have the details, and it would seem that the neighbor left to go to another party”, said Nicolas Potvin.

“My uncle said that he was not feeling well and then it the air that he was in a state of intoxication, so he said I’m going to go lie down in your hut,” he continued. He explains that the place was furnished with a bed and a heater.

Returning home, the owner would have found that the lights of the shed were still lit and could have discovered the lifeless body of the man, he advanced to Mr. Potvin.

“It is a mr. very, very generous, who knows everyone here, and then yesterday he brought me just the corn, tomatoes and apples, he does that regularly, and everything seemed normal,” said a neighbor.
