GATINEAU | A man has been stabbed on at least one occasion, late on Thursday evening, in the parking lot of the Couche-tard convenience store located on boulevard du Plateau in Gatineau, but it does concern not for his life.

“The victim would exit the convenience store with his girlfriend around 22: 30 when the suspect came from behind for the attack with a stab to the abdomen, once, maybe twice. The suspect then fled,” said lieutenant Patrick Vaillancourt, a Department of the City of Gatineau (SPVG).

The victim, a gatineau residents 25 years of age, was transported to a hospital and he would be fired with minor injuries.

The testimony of his girlfriend allowed the police to quickly locate the vehicle of the suspect, where he was apprehended. He will be charged with assault with a weapon.

A woman was at the wheel of the vehicle of the suspect. “For the moment, it is not known if charges will be laid against the driver since we need to determine if she was aware of the intentions of the suspect,” added the lieutenant Vaillancourt.

The circumstances that led to this attack are still not known, but it seems that the two men are not known to the police and they knew each other.
