A man wounded after an altercation in Montreal

    MONTREAL – A man has been injured with a knife, Thursday evening, following an altercation that broke out at the exit of a bar in the borough of Ville-Marie, Montreal.

    According to preliminary information, the fire occurred shortly after 23 h, the result of a physical altercation between the two men, aged about thirty years, at the exit of a bar located on the rue Sainte-Catherine.

    The victim was found by police at the intersection of rue Sainte-Catherine and du Fort with injuries at the bottom of the body caused by a bladed weapon.

    The man was transported to a hospital. “He will have to undergo a surgery, it is in a condition deemed serious, but stable,” said Raphael Bergeron, a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

    As for the suspect, he would have fled after the assault.

    Investigators from the SPVM have been sent to the scene to meet witnesses of the altercation and trying to know more.
