A maniac armed shot dead in a bank in the suburbs of Toronto

    VAUGHAN, Ontario | An armed man who had barged Wednesday afternoon in a branch of RBC bank of Vaughan, in the suburbs of Toronto, was shot and killed by the police approximately two hours after the beginning of a hostage situation.

    According to what was stated by the police to the local media, the suspect had barged into the bank branch shortly after 13 h with a firearm. He had then prevented a number of customers and employees to leave the premises.

    Upon their arrival, the police were able to evacuate part of the people in the bank, but others remained with the maniac. The bank had then been surrounded by police officers, including members of the emergency response team.

    The suspect was eventually shot down in the vicinity of 15 h. no one would have been injured in the course of this event.

    According to sources of the “Vaughan Citizen”, a dozen people were hostages of the suspect.

    “It is completely crazy to see that it can happen in this sector. We thought it was safe”, gave the local media an employee of a hair salon located in front of the bank.
