DUNCAN, British Columbia | A couple of Duncan on Vancouver island who adopted a pig home has raised the ire of internet users last week, they have eaten their little protected.

According to a new report by Global News, the animal, named Molly, had been collected by the Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (SPCA) local. The pig had been removed to his former owner at the end of an investigation for animal cruelty. A couple had adopted Molly at the end of the month of January.

However, less than a month later, the couple has published on the social networks images and videos showing it in the process of seasoning the meat of the animal, and preparing to eat.

“We never let people adopt an animal to eat it, has provided Global News, Lorie Chortyk, spokesperson for the SPCA of British Columbia. The people who have adopted Molly promised in writing: “no, we will not use this animal for food”.”

Although the law does not allow to crack down on people deciding to eat their pet, the SPCA has sent its employees to try to ensure that Molly has been killed without cruelty.

According to Global News, the owners in question would have finally realized that they did not know how to take care of the animal and would then have made the decision to kill it and eat it.
