CALGARY – A police officer in Calgary was reached by a bullet Tuesday afternoon by a suspect who could have possibly taken the leak, reported local media.
In a series of messages on Twitter, the Calgary police has confirmed that one of its members, a man, was hit by a bullet during an operation in the district of Abbeydale, in the north of the city. The officer was transported to hospital in a critical condition, said paramedics from Calgary to Global News, but the police said that his condition has been stabilized after his arrival in hospital.
The police has also called on the citizens living in the neighborhood to shelter, for example, down in the basement of their residence.
Images broadcast by local media show that a garage is engulfed in flames near the place where the policeman was hit by a bullet.
