The teenager is suffering from an orphan disease, which attacks the immune system. This equipment will change his life.
Kory-Antony was having trouble hiding his joy when he received his hyperbaric chamber Monday morning: “I’m excited! I’m really happy and I look forward to going in!”
In the course of the last year, he was able to see the benefits that provides this equipment. “I’ve been sick less often and less strong also, tells the teenager of 15 years. It allows me to be able to practice hockey, and be able to go to school, be with my friends because I’m less sick.”
Support of the Sainte-Justine hospital
But he had access to only a few weeks here and there. Now, he has his room all to himself! “Kory has beautiful results, supported by the Sainte-Justine hospital, says the co-owner of Oxysoins, Jean-François Tremblay. I can’t be sad on a Monday morning like this when I come deliver it to a young man like him to a hyperbaric chamber.”
If Kory-Antony can now assemble his hyperbaric chamber, it is thanks to the ex-members of the Voltigeurs of Drummondville, Martin Raymond, Charles-David Beaudoin and Robitaille. They have mobilized support from foundations and the public to raise the $ 25,000 needed. “We are super happy, it was a sense of pride for everyone who was associated with this campaign-there”, expresses Martin Raymond, now a coach assistant with the Ottawa Senators. “Small donations, big donations, all the world together so that Kory can use his room today. It’s just fun,” adds Charles-David Beaudoin.
“It is heart-warming to know that the world supports you like that and wants to help you improve your quality of life,” says Kory-Antony. I thank everyone who have given, in particular, Martin Raymond, Charles-David Beaudoin, Louis Robitaille and Mikaël Lalancette.”
All those who have contributed can say of themselves that they allow a teenager to experience more of life.
