A thief of the vehicle ends its route in the courtyard of a church

A man of 46 years behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle fled on Monday night at around 22: 15 when he saw a patrol car behind him, he finished his route in the forecourt of a church at the intersection of boulevard Jean-Talon West and l’acadie in Town of Mount-Royal.
“The police, who followed the stolen vehicle, gave a description to other patrol officers when the suspect stepped on the accelerator,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the police Department of the City of Montreal.
A few minutes later, witnesses alerted the POLICE that a van had crashed into the steps of a church.
The suspect had fled the scene of the accident, the police officers were therefore erected a perimeter and they brought in dog handlers to carry out the research.
The individual was eventually apprehended while hiding in a back yard of a residence of the avenue Greenoch.
The man, 46-year-old is known to police.
Charges of vehicle theft, hit and run intrusion of night could be brought against the driver.
