The company PolarMade of Quebec has developed in less than a year, a kind of shovel that allows snow off his roof from the ground.

The tool allows you to avoid forcing and to carry heavy amounts of snow and thus decrease the risk of injury.

“An aluminum frame is attached to a handle that can reach up to 30 feet. Simply drop the frame on the roof and push it slightly which will slide the snow on the plastic wrap,” said Benoit Mercier of PolarMade to VAT New.

PolarMade has a storefront in the industrial park in Colbert, where five employees work full time and manage to produce 500 shovels per week. All materials, suppliers and sub-contractors of the company are from Quebec.

The product is now sold throughout Quebec and in Ontario. Online sales also makes it accessible to the american and european markets. The company has even exported his shovel innovative way to Japan in the course of the next year.
