As of Monday, a train consisting of ten cars of multi-level type 3000 will be temporarily deployed on the line’s busiest train network in the suburbs. The train will make three round trips between Montréal and deux-Montagnes per day.
“Since the rolling stock used on the deux-Montagnes line is older and susceptible to large temperature variations, the RTM should make repairs and improvements in order to increase the reliability of these cars, explained the RTM in a press release. The equipment will circulate temporarily on the line, the time to perform the necessary interventions.”
Last Monday, the bitter cold had severely affected the suburban trains, causing delays on the line of Two-Mountains, but also on those of Saint-Jérôme and Candiac. The delays had been caused by a mechanical issue and by the freezing of referral systems.
To solve these problems, the RTM has also announced, Sunday, the addition of teams in the garages and on the ground to ensure the smooth operation of trains and to plow systematically the switches. The agency has also hired teams of snow removal train additional.
