A truck driver for 47 years dies in an accident in Lac-des-Écorces

    A truck driver is 47 years old died as the result of a violent exit from the road that occurred Tuesday night in Lac-des-Écorces, near Mont-Laurier in the Laurentians.

    The tragedy that cost the life of the driver of the truck, Stéphane Bélair, occurred at around 18: 15 on route 311 South.

    For some unknown reason, the truck driver has missed a curve and made a violent swerve.

    The victim remained trapped in the cabin for several minutes. Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to successfully hold Mr. Bélair.

    He was transported to the hospital, where his death was certified by a medical doctor.

    Alcohol would not be involved in the drama, said the police.

    A specialist in the reconstruction of scene of accident of the Sûreté du Québec was dispatched to the scene to conduct the investigation.
