Trade Giguere auto Parts, located in Donnacona, while another building of Levis, are the target of the searches carried out by Revenu Québec, on Thursday. The investigators would look for “evidence” to refute or confirm a suspected case of tax evasion.

The operation was initiated around 9: 00 am, Thursday morning, according to the spokeswoman for Revenu Québec, Geneviève Laurier, and take place simultaneously so that 11 investigators involved in most of the police officers of the Sûreté du Québec.

These are distributed to the trade Giguere auto Parts, located at 752 rue Notre-Dame, Donnacona, Levis. If it is the same folder, Ms. Laurel, however, is not able to confirm if the building of Levis is a business or a residence.

“It may be, for example, a private residence or office of an accountant, but the principal remains Donnacona,” says the spokesperson.

The investigators attempt to gather evidence in order to determine if they could possibly drop, or not, of the charges related to an alleged case of tax fraud, according to Mrs. Laurel.

“The searches, it is in fact always to find out if there has been a violation of a tax law”, she explains. “When you do a search, it is because there is a investigation and to do no harm, we are not told where or what this is, but we will look for evidence to see if indeed there is violation of the tax law, and if our motives are good, we can possibly file charges.”
