Five passengers, all british, were arrested on Saturday by the canadian police after the plane performing a flight between Britain and Las Vegas in the United States was forced to divert to Winnipeg international airport in Manitoba, according to the airport and the local press.

The airport has been informed that a unit of the british company Thomas Cook Airlines, making a connection between Manchester and Las Vegas was diverted to Winnipeg and “that of the passengers on board had caused the unrest”, said to AFP the spokesman of the airport, Mr. Tyler MacAfee.

He added, without giving other details, that the police was waiting for the plane and passengers had to disembark.

According to the Winnipeg Free Press, five passengers, all british, were arrested by the federal police for “causing disturbances” during the flight, and led handcuffed out of the plane, without opposing resistance.

The plane was then able to go back to Las Vegas, said the spokesman of the airport.
