MONTREAL – An operator of a mechanical excavator was seriously injured after being ejected from his vehicle, on Monday evening, in the borough of Sud-Ouest, Montreal.

The accident occurred at about 23: 30 on a construction site located near the Lachine canal.

According to preliminary information, the man of thirty years was about to lift a load, when, for a reason that remains unknown, his vehicle overturned on the side.

The operator that has a fall of several metres has been rescued by firefighters. He was transported to the hospital to treat serious injuries to the back and head. His life would not be in danger.
