One of the 10 criminals most wanted of Quebec, who was arrested last weekend after more than eight months on the run, has been formally accused of murder not premeditated this afternoon.
Marc-Etienne Side has not said a single word during his brief appearance at the palais de justice de Montréal.
The man, 37-year-old merely shook of the head when the judge Mélanie Hébert was asking him questions. He did not flinch in the box of the accused when the magistrate has read the serious accusation levelled against him.
Side was looked after since 20 November last in connection with the murder not premeditated of Israel Gauthier Nepton, which occurred in Saguenay, quebec.
On the run since, the fugitive was arrested by the Montreal police in the night from Saturday to Sunday last, following an anonymous call, located at 911 to report his / her presence in the metropolis.
During his appearance this afternoon, the Side didn’t look like the photo that had been issued by the Sûreté du Québec in order to find it. Dressed in a blue shirt, he had long hair and in battle, and wore a beard of several weeks.
The killer alleged remained detained and will be transferred to Saguenay in the next few days for the folder to take its course.
One accuses Side of having murdered Israel Gauthier-Nepton at the end of a fight night in a parking lot of Jonquière, in November 2016. The victim, 27-year-old was suffering from a bullet in the back and died on the spot. His body was found the next day.
