    It is now possible to determine in a few clicks if one is at risk of contracting one of the cancers that are more virulent: the melanoma.

    The tool, developed by the Institute of medical research Berghöfer, in Australia, is now available online and allows people of more than 40 years to calculate the probabilities of developing this aggressive disease within 3.5 years.

    It determines the degree of risk according to the subject’s age, gender, the tendency of its skin to tan, number of moles, his hair color and its habits in respect of the use of sunscreens.

    The researchers are based on data from 42,000 people between the ages of 40 and 70 years, an impressive cross-section which ensures the reliability of the test.

    The research team reiterates that it is important, even if your results are reassuring, to protect themselves all the time against the aggressions of the sun.

    Moreover, “the information provided by this tool must be used for information purposes only”, the worried people of their state is of course invited to consult a health care professional.
